Dinner Prayer
From morn'
to night, we thank you, Lord, for another day,
At our age,
each one is a bonus, I think we all would say.
Thank you
for the hands that prepared the food we're served,
And for the
one who earned the "bread," some praise is well deserved.
Let's give
thanks for the small things, like sight and touch and smell,
Furs and trips and diamonds, we can do without quite well.
Thank you
for your unselfish ways - acts of kindness,
truth and trust are what really pays.
Please
Lord, will you protect us in these uncertain times?
We'll
always be prepared to walk through the "Pearly Gates,"
then listen to the chimes.
Lord, let's
live each day as if it were our last,
then never once upon us, can a stone be cast.
Amen.
